  2. Students are expected to use appropriate online etiquette which includes the terms of the District acceptable use policy.
  3. Students enroll with Jordan Credit Center for courses only and remain enrolled with their primary school of enrollment. Course enrollment will show up as Kings Peak High School in Skyward.
  4. Only students currently enrolled as a student in Jordan School District may enroll in courses through the Jordan Credit Center.
  5. Students should produce unique and original work for every assignment and properly cite the work of others when used.
  6. Academic dishonesty may take many forms including cheating, plagiarism, collusion, collaboration on assignments without express instructor permission, unauthorized use of generative AI or other similar technologies, or fostering the dishonesty of others. Students who engage in any of these or similar behaviors will be referred to school administration and may be subject to disciplinary action which could result in failure of assignments or courses. Students should consult with their instructors if they have questions regarding what constitutes academic dishonesty or proper citation requirements prior to submitting work. Software tools will be utilized in all courses to ensure that a high level of academic integrity is maintained. These tools include originality detection, and virtual test proctoring programs.
  7. Courses may be taken for original credit or grade replacement. Students who wish to take the course for grade replacement must communicate with their school counselor at the time of enrollment to ensure this arrangement is in place.
  8. Regular access to a computer with a reliable high-speed internet connection is required to complete the coursework.
  9. Attendance in an online class is measured by student logins and participation. Students are expected to maintain attendance by regularly accessing their course similar to the way they would be expected to attend an in-person course.
    1. Minimum expectations for attendance:
      1. Log in to your course at least once a week
      2. Complete at least one assignment a week
      3. Make continual progress in the course
      4. Communicate with your Jordan Credit Center academic coach if you plan to take more than 9 weeks to complete your course
    2. Note: students who only complete the minimum expectations will not have enough time to complete the full quarter of the course within the expected 9 weeks.
    3. Students who do not meet minimum requirements may be removed from the course after 20 school days of inactivity.
  10. Students are expected to establish and maintain a regular study schedule and complete all assignments in a timely manner to ensure successful completion of the course. Students should finish within 9 weeks of starting the course.
  11. Communication between student, parent, instructor, and district administrator will be made primarily through the Canvas inbox.
  12. Students are responsible to initiate communication with their instructor or academic coach with any difficulties while completing the course.
  13. Courses taken for original credit or grade replacement will earn a letter grade based on the final percentage in the course at the end of the term in which the student is enrolled. Courses taken for credit recovery are Pass/Fail.
  14. Grades earned in an online class, including failing grades, will have the same impact on a student’s GPA as if taken in-person at the school.
  15. To ensure successful completion of all course content, students should access content through the modules page. This serves as a list of items that must be completed in order from top to bottom.
  16. Students will be provided with a pacing guide to help them with due dates. It is important that students refer to this pacing guide to help them complete the course in a timely manner.
  17. A proctored final is required in each original credit and grade replacement course for each quarter of content and must be taken in-person.
  18. All courses will close on the last day of the school year. Extensions are not available.
  19. Once the course closes students will not be able to submit assignments or take the proctored final.
